St. Pius X – St. Matthias Academy shares this message with profound sorrow as we mourn the passing of Atticus Maldonado, a beloved Warrior alumnus from the Class of 2025. Atticus passed away on Tuesday, April 14, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. His loss is deeply felt across our entire school community.
Atticus was a remarkable young man whose life, though far too short, was filled with purpose, strength, and compassion. He was a shining light within our community—known for his warm spirit, resilience, and unwavering love for those around him. He held a deep affection for his family, a strong pride in PMA, and a genuine passion for baseball and race cars. In every sense, Atticus exemplified what it means to be a Warrior: brave in adversity, generous in spirit, and steadfast in faith.
Throughout his time at PMA, Atticus inspired both his peers and mentors. His courage in the face of illness served as a powerful testament to his character and faith. He leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, kindness, and quiet strength that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
We extend our deepest condolences to Atticus’s family, friends, and loved ones during this time of immense loss. As a community, we stand united in prayer and remembrance, honoring the goodness and light he brought into our lives.
“Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and body with grief.” (Psalm 31:9)
Heavenly Father, we entrust Atticus into Your loving care. Comfort all who grieve his passing, and grant them peace and strength. May Your mercy surround them, and may Atticus rest in eternal peace. Amen.
