Kathmandu. Police Inspector Abhaya Lama has passed away following a motorcycle accident in Tarakeshwar Municipality, Kathmandu. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at B&B Hospital in Lalitpur.
On Chait 29, the motorcycle ridden by Lama (Bagmati Province-02-029 Pa 9415) was struck by a truck (Bagmati Province-03-001 Kha 1715) at Dandagaun in Tarakeshwar Municipality-8. Inspector Lama’s body is currently kept at B&B Hospital. SSP Navaraj Adhikari of the Valley Traffic Police Office told Ratopati that the body will be handed over to the family once they arrive from abroad. Inspector Lama was stationed at the Valley Traffic Police Office.
Lama was a local of Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-4, Ramechhap. SSP Navaraj Adhikari stated that he died tragically in the line of duty. The accident occurred while he was returning to his residence in Futung after completing his office duties.
He had suffered a severed nerve in his right leg, along with injuries to his head and chest. The truck driver, 38-year-old Ait Ram Moktan from Manahari Rural Municipality-5, Makwanpur, has been arrested by the police for further investigation.
Lama, who entered the police service as a constable in 2072, had successfully passed the open competition for Assistant Sub-Inspector and was promoted to Police Inspector in 2077.
