It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt sympathy that we honor the life and memory of Austin Wade Johnson, who passed away on April 15, 2026, at the age of 43. Austin’s passing is a profound loss to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on July 28, 1982, in Paducah, Kentucky, Austin was the beloved son of Kenneth Wade and Carol Lee Johnson. He spent his early years in Lyon County before moving with his family to Calvert City, where he was raised and became a valued member of the community. A proud graduate of Marshall County High School, Class of 2000, Austin was known for his dedication, including his time as a member of the school’s golf team.
Austin built a strong work ethic throughout his life, most recently contributing his skills and effort to the dam’s new lock project through Laborers Local 1214. He took pride in his work and the role he played in shaping important infrastructure in his community.
Outside of his professional life, Austin found joy in the outdoors. Whether hunting or fishing, he appreciated the peace and simplicity of nature—moments that reflected his grounded and thoughtful spirit.
He is lovingly remembered by his parents; his brother, Seth Allen Johnson (Renay); and his grandmother, Emma Holt Johnson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Betty Buckner, and Walter Johnson.
As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life marked by quiet strength, dedication, and love for family. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him, and may he rest in eternal peace.
